A top of the range textile and fitted carpet collection, La Metisse is inspired by oriental and occidental influences, in light of contemporary and unique creations.
Each piece of material is deeply anchored in its own history which is based on a permanent search for contrasts, visual rendering, symbolism and conceptual art.
By origin, the signs, emblems, symbols and decor of La Metisse are drawn from Berberian and Arabo-Muslim culture, as well as from the astuteness of Oriental myth and legend. A link has therefore been created between yesterday and today, for a shift towards an explosive future; a new identity aligning the moon and the stars.

Art and material

100% local wool using natural dyes.

Since 2019, La Metisse has reinforced its fulfillment to help protect the blue planet. Sourced locally, the carpets are made of pure wool, to warp and weft, as well as for knotting.
The three textiles used are; wool, linen and cotton. Similar to the wool, they are all sourced and produced locally, while being carded and spun by hand. Plant dyes are used and the weaving and embroidering process are also done by hand.

Savoir faire and creation

La Metisse infuses temporal and conceptual arts to adapt to contemporary creations. This is an experimental approach with a deep interest in textile and material technologies. There is a sense of freedom and pleasure, uniting utility and artistic value as one.
